Color Your Carpet® EcoCycle Policy

Our environmental policy, "EcoCycle", further defines several umbrella initiatives, including eliminating the great quantities of waste deposited in our prescious landfill space, reducing consumption of energy, waste and raw materials while reseaching additional solutions to any carpet related environmental issues.

To that point, Color Your Carpet® has developed environmentally sensible programs that are specific to the analyzing the five phases of the carpet life cycle:

  •     1.    Production (Fiber and Backing Content)
  •     2.    Functionality Selection (Design, Fiber and Color Choices)
  •     3.    Installation (Underflooring, Padding and Adhesives)
  •     4.    Care and Maintenance (Short Term and Long Term)
  •     5.    Disposal (Direct, Indirect. Recycling and Reclaimation)

  • As our part to encoyrage awareness, we have created the Color Your Carpet® EcoCycle program. We provide the consumer with the most accurate, timely and current education concerning carpet pricing, identification, selection, health issues, warranties, claims and enviromental issues on each of these five phases of carpet life cycle:

  •     1.    Production - Best carpet manufacturers based on comprehensively developed criteria.
  •     2.    Functionality Selection - Proper selection based on intended use of carpet.
  •     3.    Installation - Proper installation methods.
  •     4.    Care and Maintenance - Best methods of care and cleaning.
  •     5.    Disposal  - Alternatives to disposal and the proper methods of disposal (if and when truly necessary).

  • With the Color Your Carpet® on-site dyeing process, we actually "PreCycle" the carpet because none of the carpet is removed, remanufactured or discarded. This unique program is called ProCycle. The carpet is restored to its original beauty and potentially infinite life span. This is especially true of wool, nylon 6 and nylon 6.6 carpet fiber. Carpet made of these fibers doesn't wear out at all, it just "uglies out". ProCycle, our version of precycling, isn't actually a recycling of the carpet at all. It's better than recycling because we can bring the carpet back up to an appearance level of new looking by re-dyeing which is might also be termed "Dye-Cycling".
